Salary: Band 4, £26,106 - £26,403 per annum

Hours: 37 hours, Mon - Fri, Permanent (x2 positions)

Location: Middle Engine Lane, Newcastle

The role 

Our Business Services department are essential in providing support to Area Commands and departments across the force. We have a fantastic opportunity to join the team as an Evidential Property Administrator. 

This is a rewarding role where you’ll provide a range of administrative services to support operational work and business planning. You will be responsible for effectively managing the storage, retrieval, and disposal of seized evidence. 

You will also work with internal and external stakeholders to return or dispose of property securely in line force policy and legislation. 

What you’ll do

  • Ensuring all evidence is stored securely and accurately recorded using appropriate systems.
  • Requirement to problem-solve and make sound decisions.
  • Conducting daily checks to facilitate transfer to other stores.
  • Ensure computerised and paper-based records are maintained accurately.
  • Supporting internal customers with evidential property enquiries.
  • Storing high-risk items which may require specialised processing with strict policies and procedures (firearms, fireworks, electricals for example)
  • Handling, recording, and arranging appropriate storage and disposal of drugs in compliance with Health & Safety guidelines.

Terms of appointment

This is a permanent role subject to a six-month probationary period.
