Strategic Coordinator – West Mercia Police Local Resilience Forum Secretariat

The West Mercia Local Resilience Forum (LRF) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Strategic Coordinator to lead its Secretariat and drive forward our mission of emergency preparedness and community resilience.
As Strategic Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the LRF’s strategic objectives, ensuring effective collaboration between Category 1 and 2 responders, and maintaining robust governance and planning frameworks. You will be the central point of contact for the Forum, facilitating communication, managing projects, and ensuring compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004
The main purpose of the role is to guide multi agency partners and Chief Officers within the Local Resilience Forum in their discharge of responsibilities under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and provide strategic expertise and development to the business area, translating strategic aims into tactical delivery.
- LRF Strategic Co-ordinator role is a hybrid (mix of home & office working) role

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the LRF Secretariat, ensuring efficient coordination of meetings, documentation, and communications.
- Support the Chair and Executive Group in delivering the LRF’s strategic priorities.
- Develop and maintain emergency plans, risk registers, and resilience strategies.
- Coordinate multi-agency training and exercises to test and improve preparedness.
- Monitor national guidance and ensure local compliance with statutory duties.
- Foster strong relationships with emergency services, local authorities, health services, and voluntary sector partners.
