About the Role:

Wiltshire Police are looking for passionate and dedicated Advisors to be part of an important team dealing with DVDS (Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme) and CSODS (Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme) applications for Swindon and Wiltshire from police and external agencies.

You will undertake detailed research and assess and evaluate intelligence and information gathered to facilitate the disclosure decision making process. You’ll carry out face to face interviews with potential victims of Domestic Abuse, and to provide disclosure to victims through the Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme (Clare’s Law).

In this role, your main responsibilities will be:

To create, analyse, review and interpret key information from applications received and assess to determine opportunities and risks in respect of safeguarding victims and children who are at risk from Domestic Abuse and Child Abuse.
To undertake detailed research by interrogating various police databases including, but not limited to, force intelligence systems, force crime recording systems, PNC (Police National Computer), PND (Police National Database)
Review and identify risk during processes implementing safeguarding actions and referrals reporting any concerns
To maintain dialogue and work closely with Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), police officers, partner agencies and commissioned services to share relevant information and risk accordingly
To deliver and conduct face to face meetings, and where necessary, complete DASH (Domestic Abuse and Honor Based Violence) risk assessment.
To prepare a detailed, accurate script for disclosure to potential victims and to make it impactive, relevant, proportionate, and appropriately worded for victims. Deliver the disclosure to vulnerable victims; and adapt the language used, taking into consideration their needs, if any, and lifestyle.

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

Experience of dealing with a variety of different agencies
Previous demonstrable administrative experience
Experience in negotiating deadlines and meeting them
Experience in utilising different computer systems to conduct research
Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
General awareness of equality and diversity issues in the working environment
Understanding of confidentiality and Data Protection/Freedom of Information issues, Human Rights and Management of Police Information
Knowledge of Domestic Abuse and Child Protection issues would be desirable.
Experience in Domestic Abuse Liaison would also be beneficial
