West Yorkshire Police, as the lead force for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit, are looking to recruit two Intelligence Analysts based in Wakefield.
These roles provide excellent opportunities to become part of a well-established regional unit working alongside police forces and partner agencies to tackle serious and organised crime.
The first analyst position is within the Regional Organised Crime Threat Assessment Team which focuses upon identifying and mapping Serious and Organised Crime Groups, Priority Individuals and Vulnerabilities to understand the Threat, Risk and Harm of Serious Organised Crime, in order to support prioritised tasking across the network.
The second analyst position is within the Regional Intelligence Unit and involves analysing crime and intelligence reports to identify threat, risk, and harm through the development of strategic and tactical products.
Analysts are expected to present their analytical findings at regional meetings and work collaboratively with Senior Investigating Officers and external partners to achieve organisational objectives.
Threat areas currently managed by Intelligence Analysts within the Regional Organised Crime Unit include Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation, Firearms, Drugs, County Lines, Cyber Crime, Economic Crime and Organised Acquisitive Crime - candidates must be willing to provide analytical support to any of these areas as required.
The ideal candidates will have good working knowledge of (and ability to operate) computerised databases, experience of analysing complex data accurately, and must be able to adapt to dynamic priorities and tasking. They will also have excellent oral and written communication skills and good attention to detail. Candidates should be flexible to support the needs of the department as and when they arise which includes providing operational support and submitting evidential products to court if requested.

The successful candidates will be subject to enhanced personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
For roles which are advertised as Career Progression Schemes, individuals will be appointed to the bottom scale point of the appropriate grade within the scheme, based on the role entry requirements. Full progression through the scheme may be subject to attaining a specific qualification or successfully passing an assessment or review.
