West Yorkshire Police are looking to appoint an Operational Video Editor (ISO) to join the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) and be part of our busy team based at Calder Park, Wakefield.
We are seeking to employ a highly motivated candidate to join us in the Editing section, where your main tasks will include the delivery of a comprehensive Operational Video Editor service to investigative officers and teams from across the region and to maintain our ongoing ISO 17025 quality management programs.

We are looking for a candidate who has analytical skills and can display a high level of problem solving. You will need to be self-confident, capable of learning quickly, have excellent communication skills and work well as part of a close team.
Working under the direction of the Editing Supervisor, you will ensure work is quality controlled in accordance with regional, national and ISO requirements. This will support the ISO 17025 accreditation standards and the continual improvements that can be made to processes and procedures. You will assist in enabling the team to deliver the best evidence for our customers and ensure equipment and staff are compliant with departmental requirements.
As part of your role, you will be involved in the testing, evaluating and validation of equipment, processes and methods under the direction of the Technical Manager, ensuring they meet the needs of the section. You will complete competency testing, dip sampling and audits for staff within the unit to ensure they remain compliant whilst delivering best evidence to assist as part of the criminal process.
You will be expected to complete edited compilations using various methods, in a secure and evidential manner whilst conforming to all local, national and ISO guidelines.
The Editing section is currently working towards ISO17025 accreditation and as an Operational Video Editor (ISO) your role will be responsible for assisting in maintaining standards through ongoing assessment, testing and feedback. You will also be responsible for ensuring that work is quality controlled whilst supporting colleagues throughout the process. This continues to be a significant area that evolves and changes. Your key role will be to ensure the team conforms to accredited standards and continues to improve and shape new processes.
