- NT4 - Police Control Room Operator - Rota A (37 hours per week)
Lancashire Constabulary would like to offer you the exciting opportunity to become a crucial part of their busy Contact Management Team, based at Police Headquarters, Hutton as a Full-time Police Control Room Operator.
If you are a dynamic, customer focused individual with excellent communication skills then this role will give you the opportunity to provide an essential service to the public, by taking and dealing with both emergency and non-emergency calls.

Salary
Rota A - Basic rate = £24,309 – £31,296 / Once working full shifts and weekends = £32,702.08 - £42,101.45.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ANNUAL LEAVE WILL NOT BE PERMITTED DURING THE TRAINING PERIOD. The training period will run from Monday 3rd November 2025 – Friday 2nd January 2026 (inclusive). Please note this is subject to change dependent on the number of candidates for training.
Please note during the 8 weeks of training you will work Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (37 hours per week). You will then start your Rota.
Police Control Room Operators will be required to work weekends, Bank Holidays including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

If you are successful at shortlisting, you will be invited to our selection day on the either Sunday 6th July and Monday 7th July 2025. Please ensure you are available for these dates, if you are unable to attend the selection day your application will be withdrawn. The selection day will take place at our Hutton HQ site and will run from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Your assessment will last 1.5 hours, where you will undertake a typing exercise, Intermediate computer exercise and role play exercises. Further details will be available for those candidates invited to attend following shortlisting.
Please note, should you be successful at the selection day, due to there being a set number of places on this intake, if you are not within the top scoring range, you will be placed on a reserve list for future intakes.
Skills and Experience:
You must also have intermediate IT Skills and familiarity with windows systems, along with the ability to type / word process 20+ word per minute.

Vetting and Medical:
Please be aware, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass Recruitment Vetting (RV). Please be aware there is a minimum 3 year UK residency requirement for Recruitment vetting and you must be 18 years old at the point of applying. You will also be subject to a medical assessment.
