Join now as a transferee Detective Sergeant for the EMSOU Serious Organised Crime department!

The Serious Organised Crime team are responsible for participating in the planning and organising of operations; using intelligence to support their achievement objectives; and leading and supervising investigations into criminals responsible for serious and organised crime and operating, predominantly, at National Intelligence Model Level 2.

Overview of the role:

  • You will be responsible for investigating problems, targets, and offences – act as ‘Deputy SIO’, ensuring investigations are carried out thoroughly and expeditiously in accordance with investigation policy and relevant legal requirements.
  • Work co-operatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and East Midlands Special Operations Unit aims and objectives.
  • Maintain standards of professional practice – ensure your behaviour, and that of your team, complies with the East Midlands Special Operations Unit values and the Code of Ethics.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates will need to be able to travel throughout the UK when required.

Security Requirements - This post requires regular access to sensitive material and applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo enhanced security clearance before taking up the post.

The material may be of sensitivity to the UK and may therefore be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances, dual nationals (of which one element is British) may be granted access. However, if potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed, the post holder will not be permitted access to the systems or material required for the role and will not therefore be able to perform their duties. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or achieve the required levels of security clearance requirements cannot be offered the post.

  • Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues.
  • Be confirmed in rank
