SOC Surveillance Constable - Transferee

We are recruiting for ten surveillance Police Constable/Detective Constables, and three surveillance motorcyclists (13 total). Transferees must be Q1 Surveillance trained to apply.
The Serious Organised Crime Unit (SOC) are responsible for conducting surveillance on those individuals who are responsible for, or who carry out, serious and organised crime, operating predominantly at level 2 of the National Intelligence Model. The role will involve a broad range of investigative activity including covert surveillance with the use of regional level 2 intelligence assets. The areas of crime investigated are subject to the Regional Control Strategy.
Overview of the role:
- You will be responsible for participating in operations led by the police and other agencies, working within appropriate authority limits and carrying out tasks necessary for the successful implementation of the operation whilst managing risks to the operation and acting in accordance with legislation and procedure.
- Gather information from a range of sources to support action and ensure the information is obtained ethically and in accordance with relevant legislation and policy.
- Work co-operatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and East Midlands Special Operations Unit aims and objectives.
Due to the nature of the role, candidates will need to be able to travel throughout the UK when required.
Security Requirements - This post requires regular access to sensitive material and applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo enhanced security clearance before taking up the post.
The material may be of sensitivity to the UK and may therefore be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances, dual nationals (of which one element is British) may be granted access. However, if potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed, the post holder will not be permitted access to the systems or material required for the role and will not therefore be able to perform their duties. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or achieve the required levels of security clearance requirements cannot be offered the post.

- Be a member of a Home Office force or Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) or Police Scotland (please note we cannot accept an application to transfer from an officer serving with a non-Home Office police force).
