Job Title – Case Assessment Officer – Reference Number

2 x Permanent part time posts - average of 28 hours per week working late afternoons on a rolling pattern (example shift pattern is attached).

Salary range: £26,937 to £28,653 per annum (pro-rata for this post) and additional shift allowance of 24% for covering evenings and weekends.  

Based at Mansfield and/or Nottingham Custody Suite, Radford

 

A vacancy has arisen for a Case Assessment Officer within the File Preparation Unit, Crime & Justice Department. 

 

The main requirement of the role is to provide an administrative review of the initial case material before submitting to the CPS either for a charge decision, whilst the suspect is in custody or where charges have been authorised and a court date has been set.  All cases must meet the required standard to comply with the National File Standards and the Directors Guidance on Charging before electronic submission to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS). 

 

The successful candidate will be an organised and efficient administrator and have previous experience or knowledge of the Criminal Justice System together with excellent communication skills.  We are looking for someone with experience in the operation of computerised word processing and database systems.   The post holder will be self-motivated, flexible and be able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.  It is also important to be able to prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines.
