Data Quality Assistant – Temporary/secondment opportunity

Location: Headquarters Northallerton, with the opportunity for hybrid working. The role includes delivering coaching to colleagues across our estate, so there will be expectation for occasional travel to other locations in the North Yorkshire area.

Contract: Temporary until 31st May 2026 Internal NYP: Applications will be considered on a secondment basis, see below for further information.

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week. Monday to Friday - some flexibility with working hours could be considered.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Data Quality Assistant in the Information Management Department and become an integral part of ensuring our data is not good but exceptional! 

As a Data Quality Assistant, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing data quality held within our Niche Records Management system.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  •  The regular evaluation of data quality and accuracy of information held in Niche RMS, reconciling information against other force or national systems for corrective work to be undertaken.
  • Identify causes of poor data quality and resolve problems, taking remedial action where necessary to maintain the security and integrity of the data in accordance with statutory and legal requirements for all data handling.
  • Deliver service in accordance with agreed standards.
  • Identify and develop ongoing procedure and service improvements including key tools and learning.
  • Develop and maintain good knowledge of key procedures and processes.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and impending national changes in recording standards, escalating any impact on policies and procedures.
  • Providing accurate, relevant, and timely management information.
  • Respond to queries and provide advice, guidance or signposting.
  • Ensure a common approach is adopted in relation to the standard of recording operational information in line with regulatory and legal requirements.

Requirements:

 

We are looking for a natural problem-solver with a high level of attention to detail to join our dedicated team. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. In addition, you will have excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate, build and maintain effective working relationships and be comfortable with producing and presenting accurate data and information.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience of using Niche RMS and MS SharePoint. However, if this is new to you will make sure you receive training to support you in your role.
