Lancashire Constabulary’s Criminal Justice Department is seeking x2 Witness Care Administration Assistant's to be based at Chorley. 

Both vacancies are temporary until 30/09/2025

The Witness Care Unit Admin Assistant is a very busy and varied role with no two days being the same.  Although at times challenging, it is also rewarding.  The purpose of the role is to provide a support service to Witness Care Officers and Witness Care Managers. 

You will be dealing with many different cases which will involve:

  • checking addresses and personal details and updating IT systems;
  • updating victims and witnesses whose cases have been resulted at the first court appearance;
  • referring cases which have been adjourned to a later date or trial to be dealt with by the Witness Care Unit Manager;
  • providing officer availability for attendance at court.

Full training in respect of compliance with the Victims Code of Practice and Witness Charter will be given, with ongoing support always available.

Other admin duties and responsibilities include dealing with all incoming and outgoing post, monitoring and redirecting incoming emails, maintaining stationery and printer supplies, and booking meeting rooms.

Vetting and Medical:

Successful applicants will be required to pass Recruitment Vetting prior to commencing their role. You will also be subject to a medical assessment.
