The Role & Key ResponsibilitiesFrom your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference.
It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe.
We’re looking for a capable, accomplished and people-focused leader to join our 24/7 Force Command Centre as a Duty Manager. This is a role where every decision directly shapes how we respond to the public. Every contact into Surrey Police is critical business, from life-threatening emergencies to safeguarding concerns and lower-risk reports that still deserve the right response. Because every statistic is a real person, and every contact counts.
You’ll lead a team of contact agents in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, staying calm under pressure, driving efficient and effective service, and keeping people at the heart of every interaction.
If you have experience of managing a high-performance team and thrive on the challenge of delivering KPI’s, believe in getting it right the first time, and can turn data into people-focused delivery, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a leadership role where what you do truly matters – not just to the team you support, but to the communities we serve.
As a Duty Manager in our 24/7 Command Centre, you’ll work on a live operational floor where decisions are made minute by minute. You’ll lead from the front, balancing people, performance, and pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Working closely with call handlers, contact supervisors, dispatchers, and senior leaders, you’ll guide your team through changing demand and help deliver the right response, first time.
You’ll work a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, covering early and night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. Every shift is different, and every decision counts.
You’ll be a driving force behind decisions that directly impact public trust, officer safety, and the quality of service we provide. Data-led and people-focused, you’ll create the conditions for your team to succeed, and feel supported, valued, and ready to respond, in order to deliver the best possible service to the public.
