We are looking for a Security Officer to join our team as part of Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) near Newbury. You will provide overall security/guarding capability to protect the assets and staff at the CTPSE site, complying with complex security procedures whilst maintaining a good level of customer service.

You will monitor CCTV and alarm systems, and ensure all security related systems and equipment are maintained, liaising with appropriate parties to seek resolution to any issues or failure. You will be required to check visitors/contractors in and out, manage and verify deliveries, and ensure that no unauthorised persons are permitted entry.

The successful applicants will be confident and possess effective communication skills including the ability to be discreet, tactful, diplomatic and sensitive. As the role will require shift work, you must have a flexible approach to working hours to suit the requirements of the role and be prepared to work overtime as required. The shifts will cover a 24/7 operation. Please contact our recruitment team on recruitmentSE@thamesvalley.police.uk for more information

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may on occasion be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. For this reason a full UK driving licence is required.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks.  In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
