Modern Apprentice Police & Crime CommissionerAt the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner we have a great opportunity for an Apprentice Administrator Assistant to obtain a solid understanding of business administration and customer services, joining the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC), we’ll employ you on a 2 year fixed term contract and provide you with a dedicated mentor where you’ll have the benefit of gaining a solid grounding in business administration whilst working towards completing an NVQ Level 2. The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner has a human resources service agreement with North Wales Police and our employees have the same terms and conditions as police staff.
What happens within the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner?
The OPCC is to be the voice of the people and hold the police to account. The OPCC is responsible for the totality of policing and aims to cut crime and deliver an effective and efficient police service within North Wales – to make North Wales the safest place within the United Kingdom.
This Apprenticeship Administrator Assistant opportunity will provide you with:
- Support in completing an NVQ level 2 Qualification in Business Administration / Customer Service if you are currently working towards this, or support in achieving the qualification.
- You’ll be employed on a fixed term two-year contract for the purpose of serving an apprenticeship in an administrative role.
- You’ll be supported by a mentor who will provide dedicated support in monthly meetings to discuss your progress, leaning needs and development plans in line with your NVQ modules.
- You’ll be involved in conduct research, inputting data and processing various documents using a range of IT packages.
- Working with company policies and procedures in line with the work you will be delivering whilst maintaining confidentiality.
- Undertake general administrative responsibilities such as typing audio transcriptions.
- Producing standard business correspondence and reports.
- Attending meetings and taking minutes.
- You’ll have the opportunity to deal with general telephone and written enquiries from members of the public and other department.
- And, obtain a good level of understanding of various business support services within the OPCC and North Wales Police.
The experience you’ll bring to the Apprenticeship Administrator Assistant role;
- You’ll be working towards, or have a desire to work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration / Customer Service
- IT skills and an understanding of Microsoft Office or similar IT package
- Good written and communication skills
- The ability to work well in a team and alone
- Self-motivated to learn and to apply your learning in the workplace.
