Evidence/Weeding Clerk
Location: Wakefield
1 Full-Time Permanent Posts (37 hours)
Salary: £26,106 - £28,653 per annum
The Estates Directorates team would welcome applications for the permanent post of Evidence Weeding Clerk, to assist in couriering, investigating, managing and disposing of a wide variety of evidential items, crucial to the investigation and detection of crime.

As an Evidence weeding clerk, you will be part of a four-person team, dedicated to the transportation, research and disposal of evidential items. You will work across all districts, delivering a vital service.
Our ideal candidate will therefore be a like-minded individual, who works well in a team environment, but can also work confidently alone. The candidate we are looking for will: take pride in their work, have a high attention to detail and relish a challenge in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will also have to be willing to perform driving duties using Police owned vehicles (Desirable)

Due to the nature of the role, must provide biometric samples (fingerprints and DNA) as required to ensure ongoing inclusion on the relevant elimination databases for policing services.
Please refer to the Role Profile to ensure you meet the essential criteria for this role which include basic literacy and numeracy, previous clerical or administration experience, and an ability to use computer packages such as Microsoft Office. For this role, you must hold a full, clean UK driving license and have the ability to travel around the Force. An ability to handle and lift heavy, bulky items is also essential.
If successful, you will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.

Therefore, where this applies, applicants may be refused on the grounds that it was not possible to vet them to the appropriate standard.
