About the Opportunity
Working in the Force Vetting Unit (FVU), which forms part of the Professional Standards Department (PSD) you will be part of a dynamic team, responsible for processing high volumes of vetting applications for new hires as well as an ongoing re-vetting programme for existing staff, contractors and partner agencies. Activities include:
Researching applicant’s personal information on police and third-party systems, then recording, interpreting and reporting on your findings.
Making first line, proportionate, risk-based decisions based on the information presented, escalating cases to vetting management where appropriate.
The completion and co-ordination of all enquiries in a timely manner, including interacting with other agencies, departments and vetting applicants. This can be in person, by phone and email, communicating confidently.
Above all we are looking for forward thinking individuals who have the ability to adapt and develop in the role and be part of the new approach to policing.
