This route is for someone who would like to work in the role of an operational police officer, whilst studying, and would like to achieve a degree-level qualification
The academic learning on this course is undertaken and coincides with serving as student police officer, with active frontline duties for Lancashire Constabulary. The normal working hours of a police officer are 40 hours per week.
As a Police Officer your job will be looking to keep your community safe and feel safe, delivering competent and companionate service. Its not all about crime, its also about helping people who are vulnerable and making lives better.
The Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) is a fantastic opportunity for student officers to learn how to become a Police Officer and earn a salary, as well as study towards a paid for degree at the same time.
You will need to hold the following qualifications at the time of applying. We cannot accept predicted grades and candidates will be asked during the recruitment process to provide copies of certificates:
• At least 2 A-Level's or equivalent Level 3 qualification
• Level 2 qualifications (GCSE's) in English Language and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or equivalent
You must also have a full UK driving licence for a manual car.
Those candidates with over 12 months experience currently working as a PCSO, Special Constable, Custody Detention Officer (CDO) or work within the Police Control Room (PCRO) but do not hold the required qualifications, are encouraged to apply with Lancashire Constabulary. As experience will be taken into account, on an individual basis accordingly.
