Vehicle Maintenance Technician Apprentice
Gwent Police is offering the opportunity to become a qualified vehicle maintenance technician on our fixed-term 3 year apprenticeship.
As an apprentice you will work towards the following qualifications with our education partner in Newport, attending once per week, and occasionally for a full week:
- Level 2 and 3 NVQ Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Essential Skills Level 2 Communication
- Essential Skills Level 2 Application of Number
You will learn practical vehicle maintenance skills on the job, being trained by our team of experienced fleet maintenance experts, based at our fleet workshop in Llantarnam, Cwmbran. Here you will develop the skills to service, maintain and repair police vehicles to the required standards efficiently, prioritising high profile vehicles. You will also accurately record activity within the force fleet database, completing all legislative and regulatory paperwork.
As an apprenticeship, full training will be given, we are looking for the right individual, who will be enthusiastic and eager to learn valuable skills, to build a career in vehicle maintenance.
Successful candidate will undergo full vetting by Gwent Police.
