Serious Violence Duty Co-Ordinator - 12 months

Bedfordshire’s Violence and Exploitation Reduction Unit (VERU) is tasked with leading and co-ordinating the local response to serious violence. Responsible for delivering a ‘whole system’, public health approach, the unit brings together key partners to identify the local drivers and root-causes to serious violence and exploitation, to agree and implement a multi-agency response.

The VERU is looking for a Serious Violence Duty Co-Ordinator to ensure relevant organisations across Bedfordshire meet the requirements of the new Serious Violence Duty (SVD). The post holder will provide strategic direction and coordination of county wide activity to tackle and reduce violence. Whilst the post holder will work for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, they will support a range of partners in delivering the Serious Violence Duty and work collaboratively to tackle and reduce serious violence. The post holder will be required to work with the specified authorities within the partnership to support the development and implementation of necessary strategic needs assessments and strategies across the Bedfordshire area.
