Quality Assistant

We are seeking a Quality Assistant to join our team working within the Serious & Organised Crime Group Quality Department. The department oversees implementation of quality standards across digital forensic units within Hertfordshire.  The role holder will support the Quality Manager and forensic digital units achieve and maintain accreditation to ISO17025, ISO17020, ILAC-G19, the Forensic Science Regulators Statutory Code of Practice. They will also support implementation & compliance with other relevant Police legislation and regulations.

You will assist the Quality Manager, and support technical staff to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in digital forensic activities. You will conduct audits using vertical and horizontal auditing techniques, assist with non-conforming work, setting and verifying corrective actions and conduct effectiveness reviews of actions taken. You will create and update procedures and policies and maintain accurate records. You will generate and disseminate knowledge, quality briefings and best practice. You will support delivering training of quality principles. You will play an active role in annual UKAS assessments and support expansion of the existing quality management system to incorporate all forensic activities within digital services.  

Digital forensics is an area of rapid growth and change. This is a very challenging but exciting environment, and you will be instrumental in supporting digital units by promoting quality and influencing change in a tactful and ethical manner.

The role holder will need to be proactive and work effectively alone with minimal supervision. You will need to be able to build effective working relationships and communicate well with others. You must be able to confidently use Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, Visio, Teams.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week.

This role is non-shift.

Hertfordshire Constabulary Headquarters, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 6XF

Interview Process

Interviews will be held at Hertfordshire Constabulary HQ. Dates and times shall be arranged with candidates successful at paper sift.

There will be a short handwritten practical assessment followed by a verbal interview. Full details of the interview process will be provided to candidates successful at paper sift. The interview may last up to 2 hours.
