The People’s Directorate support Police Officer recruitment and are looking for up to two people to come and help facilitate police officer interviews.
The role is for every alternate Monday and Tuesday (Wednesdays being introduced) commencing at 0830 and finishing at 1430. We are happy for one person to do the two days or split into two people covering a day each.
We would need a volunteer(s) to support with these days by greeting the candidate at HQ North Reception and showing them to the prep room. After the 15 mins prep, escorting them to the interview room and the interview panel - so a bit of walking around. You will also help with printing the prep sheets, interview packs and getting the water for the interview room.

As a volunteer within the police service, you will be subjected to a level of police vetting. The level will be dependent upon the role and it’s access requirements. With the higher levels of vetting, applicants could be asked to provide details of family members, partner, partner’s parents and co-residents, as well as additional information regarding their own personal circumstances. This process is required to ensure that Thames Valley Police comply with the legislation of the Vetting Code of Practice
Whilst we endeavour to complete all vetting within 30 working days of receipt of vetting forms, unfortunately this is not always the case due to operational demand and back-logs, and could take considerably longer.
