To provide a full range of accountancy services to the Durham Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable

What You’ll Do

To provide accurate and timely financial management information to officers and staff of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable. This will involve offering both technical advice and guidance on the full range of financial related applications, processes, policies, regulations, accounting standards and practices.

To provide effective budget monitoring information in a variety of formants to support the delivery of command and department service objectives and plans, including regular budget clinics with heads of command and their senior management teams. This will also include planning and preparation of budget requirements in consultation with all appropriate personnel.

Support the delivery of the closure of the Annual Accounts for both Revenue and Capital in accordance with the agreed timetable, including preparation of statutory financial statements and working papers, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and professional accounting standards.

To design, develop, manage and administer the Constabulary’s financial management system and processes (including the Constabulary’s Fixed Asset Register) to ensure the integrity of all information captured.
