Job Title: LMS Business Engagement Officer
Salary: The starting salary is £38,926, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £ 35,998 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £38,523. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: Hendon or NSY with blended approach to agile working across MPS estate

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Learning and Development LMS Business Engagement Officer to support the effective use and adoption of our learning management system (LMS). This role will be instrumental in bridging the gap between the L&D team and business users, ensuring smooth operation and maximizing the impact of our online learning platform. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of LMS functionalities, and a commitment to providing exceptional user support. You will assist in training users, troubleshooting technical issues, gathering feedback, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the LMS.
Job purpose
The purpose of this role is support the implementation, optimisation and day to day operations of the Learning Management System. This role, reporting to the LMS business engagement manager is a hands-on role and ensures that the LMS is effectively utilised, delivering upskilling, making sure new functionality is working on the ground.
Key Result Areas
- Operational Support – Ensure the LMS is functioning effectively by handling day to day operations, troubleshooting issues and managing any issues within tolerance. This will be managed by using administrative tolls within the LMS to manage, users, content and workflows. The role holder will also provide support to key user groups who are testing new functionality.
- LMS efficiency – Test and assist that business processes, new and current are lean and fit for purpose, helping reduce manual effort, minimise and errors and ensure consistency. This will be done through testing and gathering user feedback.
- User Support and training- Provide hands on, and at times in person support to end users, resolving problems proactively and promptly. Deliver basic LMS training and develop user guides and keep FAQ up to date.
- Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with the LMS business engagement manager, IT teams and staff across the LMS to gather requirements and implement solution. This will be managed by having excellent communication skills, and ability to capture written requirements documentation.
- Data and Reporting : Generate reports using the LMS and monitor key metrics. Provide written reports for review of the LMS Business Engagement Manager
Location and working hours:
Shifts are Monday-Friday day shift, but there needs to be flexibility to meet the criteria of the role as and when required. The role will be blended working across London. This role is a deemed a support faculty and enables flexible working in the new Met hybrid working policy. 3 days onsite 2 days work from home. Dependant on mandatory meetings where staff are required to attend and support needs of the business.
L&D supports Flexible Working and this is considered on a case by case basis in meeting the needs of the role.
