West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit three Business Support Assistants to join the Estates and Business Services Directorate, based in Wakefield and Leeds.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to play a vital role in a unique team supporting Officers and Staff of West Yorkshire Police. Are you passionate about providing excellent customer service, helping others and problem solving? If so, we are looking for you to join our team!
You will provide a comprehensive administrative support function within the Estates and Business Services directorate.

Your duties will include conducting accurate processing and validating of Police Officer and Staff overtime for Pay and Time off in Lieu. Inputting computerised data across a range of systems to maintain the Business and Receipts Accounts, including the receipting, dual counting, payment, and banking of monies. Processing expense claims for Special Constables and Volunteers in accordance with Force Policy. And placing orders for through our centralised Purchasing department for external Suppliers.

Your role will also include sorting and distributing ingoing and outgoing mail, responding to requests and queries from Officers and Staff and booking travel and accommodation for members of staff and Officers travelling around or Out of Force through a booking agency.

Following Force Procedure, you will also order Officer and Staff uniform.
You will issue keys for clothing, PAVA and Airwave radio lockers in line with Force Policy and co-ordinate continuous accuracy of all databases as well as occasionally undertaking audits of Airwave lockers where applicable. You would also visit outer stations and engage with the Officers and staff based there, ensuring you deliver excellent communication skills and a natural ability to build rapport.

This role is extremely varied and diverse, and will suit someone who has the following;
• Basic knowledge of office systems and procedures.
• Has knowledge of and the ability to operate computer systems such as Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
• Has the ability to successfully complete relevant training on Force computer systems.
• Has basic understanding of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
