Senior Disclosure Officer
To act as Senior Decision Maker in relation to complex requests for disclosure and information, mainly but not exclusively Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) requests, ensuring all procedures and processes are adhered to, and decisions are in accordance with legislation, government guidelines /codes of practice. To ensure all decisions are proportionate and accountableReview, advise and resolve any queries or decisions which require escalation, and assist with interventions by statutory bodies. To resolve enquiries and assist in resolving complaints / enquiries relating to information rights applications and disclosure from members of staff; other Forces; outside agencies; individual applicants and members of the public including statutory actions / interventions
To assist senior management / staff in relation to managing the performance of the Unit, including the development and supplementary training for staff in their roles. Coach and mentor staff ensuring all training needs are met in line with legislation and guidance of the Information Rights & Disclosure Officers and identifying any/undertaking any training or performance issues within the Unit’s Teams. Identify and communicate improvements in processes and practices to ensure maximum effectiveness and best practice.
Monitor workloads and identify any fluctuations in performance, addressing as required. Undertake regular auditing of cases ensuring quality and compliance with Quality Assurance Framework, providing feedback and support as required.
