Counter Terrorism Prepare Officer - Protect and Prepare (CTPSE)

We invite applications for the role of Counter Terrorism Prepare Officer (CTPO). The purpose of this role is to coordinate regional CT Prepare activity as part of a team. This includes developing, testing, exercising, debriefing and coordinating learning of operational response and contingency plans, as well as provision of specialist support to ongoing operations.

The current vacancy will include a varied role including facilitating and driving forward testing and exercising, organisational learning, debriefs response plans and business continuity work streams.

The ideal candidate would possess the following characteristics, but if you feel you have transferable skills that would allow you to excel in the role you are encouraged to apply;

  • Experience of planning work over varying time periods in a dynamic environment, with ability to make decisions with a methodical, problem solving approach.
  • Skilled communicator, with ability to adapt communication styles to a variety of audiences. This includes written and verbal presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Suite of products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to learn new systems
  • An effective team player also able to work well with a minimum of supervision.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes, mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary for the successful candidate to obtain and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks.  In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
