S4-intelligence Officer-Central

The role involves evaluating, researching and processing of intelligence for the force and to act as a central point of contact for all external force and partner agency enquiries. This also includes to:

  • Act as a point of contact between FIB and specialist organisations that can assist investigations including Interpol, NABIS, Border Force, eBay and PayPal.
  • Undertake systems checks and searches, including to verify and cross-reference validity of information to identify and communicate links between different pieces of information, where required, to support colleagues in other intelligence functions within FIB.
  • Identify threat, risk and harm and escalate intelligence to the appropriate person promptly for further action to support operations and live-time operational activities.
  • Disseminate intelligence/information, where required, in line with Government Security Classification and Access Control policies, to support ongoing operations and aid with achievement of Forces policing objectives.

The role also involves the following skills:

  • Good communication skills with the ability to listen to others and transmit and receive information effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own work and manage own time effectively to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Skilled in the use of use standard IT packages, systems and/or databases to enter, record, and retrieve information effectively.
  • Able to interpret and apply guidance to a specific activity.
  • Good team working skills demonstrating awareness of individual differences and providing support as required.
