In this role, you will support departments across the force by conducting proactive and reactive analysis on the most serious of crimes.

You will be among our most experienced Analysts, and you will support our Major Crime, CAIT and SOCU teams (among others), on a variety of crimes including murder, serious and organised crime, and child abuse, as well as being called out to provide analysis on crimes in action, including kidnaps and manhunts.

This is an exciting and rewarding role where you will really feel you are making a difference when you see the results from your analysis, and the investigations you are a part of.

About the Role

Your role on any day may include:

Gathering and analysing data during the early stages of an investigation, through to creating exhibits and giving evidence in court.

Being a key member of an operational team, using information from a variety of sources, including communications data, to identify intelligence gaps and test hypotheses.

Developing inferences from your analysis, and then making recommendations to officers to solve problems and further investigations.

Providing structured mentorship, advice and guidance across the wider Operational Analysis team to improve standards, products and knowledge.

Being part of an out of hours call out rota for fast time crime in action operations.

There will also be opportunities to attend conferences, training and awareness sessions to continue your own professional development.
