Salary: The starting salary is £68,295, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £65,367 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £70,012 Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Join us, and you’ll be entering a fast-paced and exciting domain where the smooth delivery of every project counts. Working within the National Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (NCTPHQ) you’ll be responsible for delivering projects within the Technology portfolio across a multitude of technical disciplines.
To deliver effective technology to CTP, you will lead a team and bring consensus to what needs to be achieved to resolve business challenges of mid to high complexity. You’ll need to be comfortable working across all stages of the technology lifecycle and with everything from the cloud and infrastructure to apps and mobility.
Day to day, you’ll define methodologies, governance and reporting mechanisms; engage with governing forums and senior stakeholders; and manage risks and issues proactively. You’ll also manage a project team, breaking down project plans and workstreams with team members and monitoring progress.
At this level, you must have extensive experience in a similar role. It’s important that you have managed a variety of ICT-related projects, including deadlines and financial budgets, throughout the project lifecycle.
Thanks to this background, you’ll be used to communicating in complex stakeholder situations: you express yourself well, write clear reports and listen carefully. Your knowledge of project management should extend to the commercial, operational, technical and supply infrastructure in which successful programmes and projects are delivered. And underpinning all this, you’ll have the following qualifications (or equivalent): PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent; Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner; Agile Project Management Foundation & Practitioner (AgilePM®) and ITIL Foundation Certification.

Experience:
The role demands a member of staff with in-depth practical experience of Project Management, working to manage and deliver the technological requirements of the national CT Policing Community. The role holder must have:
- Experience in project management of ICT projects within complex stakeholder/business environments;
- Excellent listening and oral skills with the ability to present information appropriately by audience;
- Excellent written skills and clear report writing;
- Organisational skills, the ability to pay attention to detail;
- In-depth experience of and competence in using MS office tools (including MS Project and Visio)
- Experience of working within secure technology-based projects and programmes enabling business change;
- Ability to work under pressure and to turn-round communications to meet tight deadlines;
- Experience of working as a key member within a high performance team;
- Experience of developing/maintaining governance, and the correct and efficient use of standards across multiple projects;
- Experience of managing financial budgets throughout the lifetime of a project
- Ability to manage stakeholders of all levels and deliver their complex business requirements
- Experience of managing risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies;
- Experience of developing and working with audit processes and challenge functions;
- Experience of working within business change related projects
- Experience of implementing document management systems and document controls and the ability to deal with sensitive information.
- An understanding of the commercial, operational, technical and supply infrastructure in which successful programmes and projects are delivered.
- Experience with government procurement processes.
- Highly self-motivated, conscientious, enthusiastic with a positive and proactive approach;
- A record of successfully supporting and delivering secure national projects on time and on budget in a complex environment which uses both in-house and supplier based delivery method
- An understanding and experience of how finance budgets management work
- Experience and knowledge of the security accreditation processes at a national level at all Government security Classification (GSC) levels.
- Experience of recruiting technical staff to key project roles (contract and permanent)
Vetting
This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.
