Hertfordshire is a county full of contrasts from busy towns and cities to country lanes and picturesque villages, an extensive road and rail network as well as Heathrow, Stansted and Luton airports on the doorstep.
Hertfordshire’s newly appointed Chief Constable, Andy Prophet, is looking for an Assistant Chief Constable to lead the Crime and Safeguarding portfolio. The successful candidate will have the personal values, investigative tenacity and collaborative qualities to lead, support and inspire a workforce of 4,200 officers, staff and volunteers.
The constabulary is committed to preventing crime and harm. However, as highlighted on the PEEL report published in October 2024, there is work to do to improve the recording and investigation of crime, embedding safeguarding practices in the force and wider partnerships and ensuring a genuine connection between the leadership and our people.
If you have a passion for fighting crime, build safer communities, getting the best out people, enjoy coaching and building strong teams, if you want to be part of a new leadership team and Constabulary committed to making Hertfordshire even safer, we would love to hear from you.
You must have successfully completed the Police Leadership Programme (Stage 5/Executive Leaders) or successful completion of the Strategic Command Course prior to 2023.
