Wiltshire Police - Superintendent

  • Substantive Positions (Detective and non-Detective)
  • Salary £80,784 - £95,025 per annum
  • Relocation allowance available (where moving into force area)
  • Location: Various (determined by the role)

The Chief Constable is inviting applications from Superintendents and substantive Chief Inspectors for key roles within our force. 

These roles are about gaining trust, building relationships, and being present when the community we serve needs us most. Wiltshire’s diverse landscape, with its bustling towns and rural areas, presents unique challenges and opportunities that demand innovative, compassionate leadership.

In this application process you will be required to demonstrate: 

  • Experience working at Superintendent or Chief Inspector rank in policing
  • Ability to lead the development and implementation of policy and strategy in areas of responsibility, in line with force/organisational and national directives
  • Resource and budget planning for areas of responsibility, in line with force priorities
  • Ability to lead, motivate, engage, manage and develop a team of policing professionals and provide leadership to a significant area of command/area of responsibility
  • Experience in leading responses to major events and serious/complex investigations, setting strategic/tactical objectives and priorities, assessing and managing threats/risks and directing the deployment of resources
  • A strong ethical and moral compass, challenging poor performance/behaviours.  

You will be required to be on-call as part of a rota.  When on-call, you will be expected to be within one hour of a Wiltshire Police station.
