Role Overview
An exciting opportunity to join Gwent Police Learning and Development Department in the role of a Work Based Assessor. The main functions of this role are working as part of the assessment function of the Leadership Academi to:
- Assess newly promoted Sergeants (level 4) and Inspectors (level 5) as they progress through step 4 of the National Police Promotions Framework (NPPF).
- To plan work to include inductions, schedules of assessment, feedback and compliance.
- To evaluate assessment and development activities within the force and provide findings and recommendations to ensure learning is used to improve assessment.
- To support force quality assurance officers with assessor decisions, processes ensuring they are valid and reliable.
- To monitor, assess and review candidates and, when necessary, provide written reports to address compliance.
Above all, the successful candidate will possess people and communication skills and must have a genuine desire to support and coach police officers through a key stage of their careers including promotion and transition into a new role.
