We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication and teamworking skills and experience of managing all aspects of high value category management and delivery of quantifiable procurement efficiencies, to join our procurement team.
Candidates should hold the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Diploma and full corporate membership (MCIPS) level 6, graduate diploma and have an excellent interpretation of public procurement legislation.
Working as part of a small team the Senior Commercial & Contract Manager will be responsible for:
- Developing and managing commercial and contract management strategies for a portfolio of spend to achieve the strategic aims and objectives of the Force.
- Leading and managing complex and strategic procurement projects, ensuring delivery is in line with customer requirements and timescales.
- Negotiating and influencing internal and external stakeholders to deliver contracts that are compliant with Contract Standing Orders and Procurement Legislation to protect the Force from financial and reputational risk, ensuring value for money is achieved.
- Management and performance of both direct and indirect reports.
Skills and experience:
- Previous experience of managing all aspects of high value category management and delivery of quantifiable procurement efficiencies.
- Experience of managing or mentoring staff.
- Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Diploma & full corporate membership (MCIPS) Level 6 Graduate Diploma.
- Excellent interpretation of Procurement legislation.

Eligibility:
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
