Assistant Chief Constable(s)

Staffordshire Police – Assistant Chief Constable(s)

“Key leaders in bringing Staffordshire Police back to outstanding”.

As Chief Constable my vision for Staffordshire Police focusses on the community we serve and the outcomes we want for them – safety and confidence. It recognises that we are critical to securing this through a local, visible, and responsive police service which cares for victims, the people who work for it and the partnerships that improve the life of those who live and work across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

I am looking for individuals with demonstrable senior level command experience, a proven track record of delivery and an engaged leadership style. Colleagues who lead with people and who genuinely care. I welcome conversations and ultimately applications from such engaged leaders who are comfortable being visible and present with our staff, who support and challenge their workforce in an emotionally intelligent way, and who do detail but not other peoples’ jobs for them.

Day to day, my expectation is that my Assistant Chief Constables will be driving daily business within their strategic portfolio areas, whilst empowering their staff to be innovative, creative and to personally own the risk and quality-of-service realities in their area. I need individuals who will (constructively!) challenge me and executive colleagues, who will bring diverse leadership attributes, be protective of the mature Executive Team dynamic that we have developed, and who can balance hard work and a relentless focus on delivery, alongside their own wellbeing and personal priorities.

My commitment to you is that I and my Deputy will give you the clarity of direction, the space and the support to do your job, alongside a mature approach to accountability to ensure we remain on track to realise our ambition to once again be an outstanding local police force.

In Staffordshire, you will find everything you need both personally and professionally – a place to work, live and enjoy. Most of all, you’ll find people who are warm, welcoming and wanting to make a difference.
