Mounted Section Groom (Two posts)

1x full time post, 37 hours per week, 1x part time post, 22 hours per week. This is an onsite role based at Lillingstone Lovell. 

An exciting vacancy has arisen for a full-time and part-time groom position within the Mounted Section. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with suitable Equine qualifications and experience to work in one of a very small number of police Mounted Sections. You will work in direct support of the mounted officers by providing assistance in the care of police horses, maintenance of the stable facilities and accompanying and driving the horseboxes.

Existing riding skills and knowledge of horse care are essential and further training will be provided. You will work in direct support of mounted officers by providing assistance in the care of police horses, maintenance of stable facilities, driving horseboxes, ensuring adherence to current policies and procedures.

A full UK driving license is essential, as there is a requirement to work unsocial hours which can also involve lone working; public transport may not be available at these times.

Due to driving regulations and the transporting of live loads, individuals must not be less than 21 years of age at point of application. Additionally all applicants must weigh no more than 14 stone (in line with National Mounted Section guidelines to meet animal welfare standards)
