Administrator - NCOA

The National Crime Officers Association is seeking applications from individuals for the position of Administrator at their new London based office.

The NCOA is the Trade Union of the National Crime Agency which focusses on the needs of its members and those working in other law enforcement groups. The NCOA is committed to building its union to reflect the needs of its crime fighting membership and free from external interference or political persuasion, with a dedicated focus on member protection.

The NCOA seeks a new employee to join our small team who is multi-functional and versatile in office administration, with a willingness to gain and demonstrate an understanding of the NCOA ethos, member services and strategic direction.

Any individual fulfilling this important role will be expected to,

Provide office administration.

Promote the NCOA to external partners

Respond to membership and database queries

Provide support and administrative assistance to our national officers.

Location

Although this role will be based primarily at our Head Office in Whitechapel, London the successful candidate will be required to travel to the NCOA Annual Delegates Conference, to meet the needs of our diverse NCOA membership.

Hours

This is a full-time role, the core hours of the NCOA being Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, but flexible working arrangements are welcomed and will be considered

Salary

£28,000 p.a. plus London Weighting £5,000 (Pro-rata for those seeking to work reduced hours)

Skills required

Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of the following:

A basic understanding of Trade Union objectives, and a strong personal commitment to these objectives

Working within a small team, and display strong interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively

IT competency with experience of operating membership databases.

The successful applicant needs to display energy, enthusiasm, resilience, commitment, and an ability to use individual initiative and most importantly, a commitment to supporting our cadre of NCOA ‘volunteer’ representatives and Trade Union officials.

As part of this role, the successful applicants will be required to engage with members and officials of the National Crime Agency. Pre-employment checks (which include a security clearance review) will be undertaken by the NCOA prior to any appointment being confirmed.

Please be aware that open-source due diligence checks will also be undertaken for all short-listed candidates.
