Job Title: RPA Developer
Salary: The starting salary is £60,893, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £57,965 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £63,230. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: The primary Met Location for this role is Bow. Travel across the Met estate, to attend meetings as required by the business, is expected.

Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT)
The mission of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) is to provide the Met with information (and specifically data), communications and technology to help frontline officers and Met staff do their jobs more efficiently, in order to deliver the New Met for London plan. In other words, DDaT is about “passionately delivering trusted technology for precise data driven policing”.
As well as keeping up to speed with developments in technology and making recommendations for new equipment and systems that will help modernise policing, DDaT also comprises the Data Office which:
- Owns and drives the data compliance and analytics agenda.
- Brings together the accountabilities that are currently dispersed across the Met business areas.
- Consolidates and further develops existing Met data and insight services.
- Enables data sharing and collaboration to serve the public and external partners.

Job Purpose
Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) requires a skilled analyst and developer to work as part of a new team that will provide Automation services that drive efficiencies across the Met.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for analysing business requirements, developing, deploying, and supporting automation solutions using the UiPath Automation Platform to realise benefits. This role therefore requires a strong understanding of RPA technologies, and the ability to deliver high-quality, efficient automation solutions using both low-code and pro-code approaches.
The new team will work with a supplier to create a new internal Met automation team. This team will be upskilled by the delivery partner over a 2-year period and then will be solely responsible for all automations in the Met.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Engaging with areas of the business to understand and analyse their automation opportunities, design and develop robust automation solutions using UiPath.
- Working with the Business Engagement Manager or Project Manager, engage operational colleagues to translate business needs into requirements for RPA solutions.
- Provide ongoing support of deployed automations / bots and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Document RPA designs, processes, and system dependencies and maintain said documentation throughout the lifecycle of an automation.
- Perform debugging and troubleshooting of deployed RPA solutions.
- Ensure the quality of automation through industry-standard testing practices.
- Understand and realise benefits from the automations.

Vetting Clearance Level
For this role the Vetting Clearance is Force Clearance Level, Recruitment Vetting (RV), and National Security Vetting (NSV) Level, Counter Terrorism Check (CTC).
