Chief constable Scott Chilton, has laid out plans to relentlessly pursue those who commit crime and bring harm and misery to communities, provide first class investigations to ensure those responsible face the consequences of their actions, and deliver an excellent service for victims. At the bedrock of this is visible, neighbourhood policing.
Applications are invited from officers who feel they are ready for the challenge of promotion to the role of Chief Superintendent, and those who are already at Chief Superintending rank and wish to join our force. We welcome applications from anyone with a strong investigative background and/or local policing.
Chief Superintendents will form part of the Force Gold rota and will be expected to either already operate as a Strategic Firearms Commander, Public Order Gold and Multi-Agency Gold commander, or work towards occupational and operational accreditation if successful.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate the following experience, drive and personal qualities:
- A passion for delivering exceptional local policing and cutting crime.
- An excellent track record of successfully delivering policing performance and leading people.
- The highest standards of professionalism, integrity and personal commitment as a role model of positive ethical behaviours.
- Excellent strategic thinking, communication and leadership skills.
- Effective delivery against force priorities and the Police and Crime Plan.
- An ability to motivate and engage with the workforce, creating an environment where everyone can be at their best.
