We look forward to reading your application for the role of Head of Communications and Engagement.
The selected candidate will lead all communications and engagement functions for the organisation, including the development of long-term strategic communication plans. Support the Chief Executive, Deputy CEO, and Directors in delivering clear and proactive communications, working with them as a communications partner for highly sensitive strategic initiatives. Enhance the Colleges reputation and connection with policing by leading teams responsible for media relations, employee engagement, marketing, social media, and creative content.
Person specification
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with, and beyond policing to build and influence relationships with internal and external stakeholders (with significant focus on expert understanding of wider policy commercial, academic and higher education sectors). Leading transformational change, providing strategic vision, and personable accountability.
- Evaluating the impact of College policy, products and services to understand stakeholder impact and contribution to the Colleges agreed strategic priorities. Championing the efficient use of College resources and budgets by leading others in successfully negotiating and influencing internal and external stakeholders to improve collaboration and amplification of the Colleges objectives.
- Leading recruitment, retention, workforce planning and performance appraisal across one or more professional communities. Collaborating with senior colleagues to lead the personal and professional development of staff. Developing professional career pathways that support employee retention and satisfaction and improve individual performance. Embedding skills identification and development in all areas of the employee lifecycle.
- Leading project and service delivery teams to produce customer and service-centred outputs to agreed quality standards and timescales. Planning complex activities effectively to set clear direction and objectives and make best use of resources. Identify and manage milestones, risks, issues and dependencies. Adjusting plans and strategies to reflect changing needs of stakeholders. Monitoring and assessing progress, making sure people work to decisions, plans and policies.
To be successful in this role youll need:
- Level 7 qualification in Professional Marketing or equivalent relevant experience in a senior role.
- Proven track record of leading an organisations marketing and communications operations and creating and executing effective marketing strategies.
- Excellent knowledge of all aspects of marketing. E.g., digital marketing, content marketing, copywriting, print marketing, multi-media campaigns, social media marketing, direct marketing, brand, and reputation management.
