We currently have the following transferee and re-joiner vacancies:

  • Police Constables
  • Detective Constables (crime and safeguarding)
  • Police Constables looking to train as Detectives (crime and safeguarding)

In addition to your salary, we also offer a regional allowance of £3,000 a year.

Hertfordshire officers also benefit from free rail travel, simply by showing your valid warrant card on Govia Thameslink and Great Northern routes as well as TFL Underground trains. Full details on the Herts Police Federation website.

If you’re a serving constable in an operational role hoping to become a detective, we’re offering the Trainee Detective Constable (T/DC) programme, which enables you to complete the PIP2 programme.

Each transferee and re-joiner will have one-to-one contact with our Pathways Sergeant throughout the process who will manage your recruitment and deliver your onboarding programme. 

The transfer process involves an application, virtual interview, medical, eyesight test, fitness test and vetting.

Hertfordshire is part of a tri-force alliance (with Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire), as well as the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU), both of which offer specialist opportunities within operations and investigations.
