The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro-rata if the working hours are less than full time.

The Role & Key ResponsibilitiesFrom your first day with us you will be part of a policing family making a real difference.
It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe.
We are looking for applications from individuals who are experienced PIP1 qualified Police Staff Investigators that either hold the relevant National Investigators Exam (NIE) or are committed to take and pass this within a specified period. The role is varied and sometimes tough. You will work as part of a team to investigate serious and complex crimes, deal with victims, offenders and witnesses. Bringing offenders to justice is challenging but ultimately rewarding. If this is the beginning of your PIP2 journey, this is a fantastic opportunity to work towards obtaining your PIP2 accreditation.
Skills & ExperienceYou should have demonstrable knowledge to PIP Level 1 with the potential to reach PIP Level 2. Your application should evidence the following:

- Possess an analytical mind, a methodical approach and have attention to detail.
- The ability to effectively and efficiently handle and interview victims, witnesses and suspects.
- The rules of best evidence, investigate interviewing of both witnesses and suspects, case file preparation and an awareness of forensics.
- Key offences in criminal procedure legislation, including the PACE and CPIA
- The fundamental workings of the courts and the wider criminal justice system.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with people from all walks of life and communicate with them at a level proportionate with their understanding.
- The ability to work as part of a team • The ability to work with other agencies and partners - Have excellent communication skills both written and orally
- Proficient is use of Police IT systems to enable crime investigation, evidence gathering, and case file preparation.
