Strategic Innovation & Research Specialist (Secondment/Fixed Term Contract)

The Policing Strategy Unit are looking for someone to enhance the ability for Thames Valley Police to embed research and innovation into operational situations.
TVP aims to be the leading police force for innovation and preparing for the future, and this role will be an integral part of that journey. Internally, the role is to have oversight of research and innovative pilots that are running in the force. To influence efforts so they meet the strategic direction for the force and to ensure there is value for money for TVP and the frontline colleagues who will be taking part in any innovation.
The essence of the role is to help make sure the right research and innovation pilots are then adopted into business as usual and have sustainability. Externally, the role is to nurture key academic partnerships, in order for research to be co-produced for areas that are strategically important to TVP. It is also to be networked with similar roles in other police forces, the College of Policing and similar institutions and industry that will support our journey.
You will be a confident communicator at all levels and will be educated to degree/Masters level (or equivalent) or with equivalent experience where they have undertaken research and are aware of research methodologies. You will also have proven interpersonal and problem solving skills and the ability to promote professional working relationships. The ability to work to deadlines whilst managing a substantial workload is essential. You will be IT literate in Microsoft applications.
