ERSOU - ROCU - PC/DC Undercover Online Operative
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for persons to join the Online Undercover Unit as a full-time Online Only Undercover Operative. (Successful applicants are required to pass the relevant course/modules to retain the position). The position will be based at an undisclosed location in Kent.The successful applicant will be at the forefront of covert online operations, tackling serious child sexual exploitation and other organised crime and serious criminal threats affecting the Region and beyond. The post-holder will be responsible for securing intelligence and evidence in a legal, justifiable and proportionate manner, professionally, ethically and with integrity, knowing that such evidence is likely to be the subject of intense scrutiny and challenge in subsequent criminal proceedings.
The nature of the role and subject matter can be a demanding and emotional strain and therefore successful applicants will be subject to regular, mandatory psychological assessments to ensure full management of health and wellbeing.

Applicant must:
• Be able to pass the Undercover Online Course, supported by the Unit.
• Have experience and knowledge of reactive and/or proactive investigations and display a sound awareness of evidence gathering techniques.
• Demonstrate an excellent understanding of the internet and IT systems.
• Be flexible around duty times; hours will vary and are subject to operational requirements and extended and unsociable hours will be necessary. (This role is not suitable for agile working). • Be prepared to travel and work regionally, sometimes nationally, (incl. overnight stays).
• Hold or obtain vetting to SC & MV level before taking up the position.
• Hold a Full UK Driving Licence. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 years residency criteria) and Security Clearance (5 years residency criteria) or Development vetting, if applicable, before taking up the post. Please be aware the Police Corporate Vetting Unit will undertake security vetting on successful candidates, their family and others that live at their home address, which will include financial checks. Due to the sensitive nature of these checks, we are not able to supply feedback should clearance be declined
