Job Title: Operational Planning Lead
Salary: The starting salary is £59,839, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £56,911 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £69,342. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

This is an exciting opportunity within the Workforce Planning and Deployment Team of the Metropolitan Police, supporting the direction for the Corporate Workforce Planning and Insight team, through delivery of forecasts & models for all 50, 000 people into 70+ business units and operational OCUs.

Duties and Responsibilities –
Operational Planning is responsible for the tactical allocation of resources to meet the immediate (in year) demands of policing operations, through executing deployment decisions.
- Analyse direction and prioritisation for changes to design and consequent impact on deployment as part of the prioritisation for deployments. Liaise with senior stakeholders to identify risks and issues to understand and advise on impact of proposed changes.
- Responsible for monitoring and understanding workforce breakdowns, including IDE and highlighting areas of disproportionality. Provide insight to corporate reporting and supporting business areas to understand and align workforce to organisation goals
- Responsible for the translation of the corporate strategy to a localised plan that can be actioned by internal team and local stakeholders. Cascading messages to the most senior stakeholders
- Drive and demonstrate visible leadership, collaboration and engagement across business stakeholders, wider HR and workforce planning colleagues to ensure a united approach to all in-year workforce plans.
- Perform an advisory role to project and business stakeholders who are running projects and business cases, providing key workforce planning insight, advice and recommendations. Set direction for type and quality of data required to support project decision making
