ERSOU CTP - DCI Pursue Investigations

A Detective Chief Inspector is sought to fulfil the role of DCI PURSUE Investigations in the Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) command at ERSOU. This exciting opportunity is open to substantive Detective Chief Inspectors and detectives who have successfully passed a Chief Inspector promotion board in their respective force, and are supported by their force and/or current line management.

Ideally with experience or exposure to covert policing, you will be supporting the PURSUE strand of the Governments CONTEST strategy, you will be responsible for deterring, detecting and disrupting acts of terrorism and extremism through the effective management of CT Investigations in partnership with colleagues from MPS SO15 Command.

ERSOU CTP covers the counties of Beds, Cambs, Herts and Essex, Norfolk, and Suffolk and works with several national partners, as such whilst the post holder will be required to be office based at a secure location in Hertfordshire for a proportion of the working week, there may also be a requirement to travel to various locations across the region and at times nationally. Prior knowledge or experience in CT Policing is not required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role as part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), supporting ERSOU CTP’s key directorates; Intelligence, Investigations, Prevent and Protect, and Borders policing.

As an SIO with strong interpersonal skills, you will enable effective communication between ERSOU and National CT policing functions maximising investigative opportunities across the region and nationally in accordance with current priorities. Whilst maintaining oversight of CTP Investigative activities, and their compliance with legislation and protocols, you will also be asked to lead teams developing the regions financial investigation and iii/digital media capabilities.

This role also leads the region CT nominal management team and Prison Intelligence Unit, overseeing compliance, logistical planning, and the coordination of these functions in support of the regional response. You will also be part of the CTP SMT On Call cadre providing oversight and decision making in all areas of CT business when required.
