We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our Force Cyber Crime Unit as a Protect/Pursue officer based in Shrewsbury. Consideration may be given to remote working at HQ, however there will be a requirement to be based in Shrewsbury for the majority of the working week.

This is an exceptional opportunity to play a crucial role in combating cyber threats and ensuring the security of our communities across the force area. You will be at the forefront of investigating and preventing cybercrime activities. You will collaborate closely with Regional Organised Crime Units (ROCU’s), the National Crime Agency (NCA), and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to tackle sophisticated cyber threats and bring offenders to justice and protect people from harm.

This role requires exceptional analytical skills, a good understanding of technology and a passion for staying one step ahead of cybercriminals.

Full training will be provided to the successful applicant to include Digital Policing Level 2, chain analysis and cyber foundations.

No prior experience of investigating cyber-crime is required, but successful candidates will be strongly performing with support from their line management. Successful candidates will need to be able to work as part of a small team, possess an awareness of covert policing and evidence a good standard of written work. An investigative mindset is a must and candidates should be PIP II accredited or prepared to work towards accreditation.

Expressions of interest are being sought now. Please see the role profile attached for the knowledge, experience and key skills of the role.

Closing date for applications 12 noon on Monday 17th February 2025.
