The Role

Neighbourhood Policing in Surrey is at the forefront nationally and we are looking for proactive, enthusiastic, and committed officers to continue this work and join our team.

We have vacancies in on East Surrey in the Epsom Neighbourhood Team and on North Surrey in the Runnymede and Spelthorne Neighbourhood Teams .

This is a role where you can really make a difference to a local community and use your problem solving and engagement skills to best effect. It offers excellent development through working with partner agencies, seeking innovative solutions to local issues and taking ownership of areas of concern within communities.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Working closely with police colleagues, partner and statutory agencies using a flexible, innovative problem solving approach to tackle chronic and repeat issues affecting the local community.
  • Make full use of ASB legislation as appropriate to reduce, prevent and disrupt the actions and behaviours of those individuals that disproportionately affect our communities
  • Understand local priority and local neighbourhood issues, taking personal responsibility to deal with these in a creative way by working with others to maintain and improve community satisfaction as well as confidence in the police service
  • A good understanding of problem oriented and problem solving principles. Exploring ways to deal with issues in an innovative way, including evidencing and sharing success stories.
  • Resilience in dealing with challenging, long-term community problem solving.
  • The ability to contribute and be involved in public/partner meetings.
  • Negotiate and influence to direct individuals and agencies towards desired outcomes in pursuance of problem solving efforts.
