We have an exciting opportunity for a PNC/LEDS Update and Disposal Operator to join our PNC Bureau working on a temporary basis until 31.03.26.
Key responsibilities:
- Create, update, and amend information held on the Police National Computer (PNC) and the Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS).
- Liaise with Criminal Justice Units and other criminal justice agencies to assist in the provision of complete records.
- Deal with enquirers by telephone, in person or by other means, whether police officers, members of the public, other Criminal Justice Agencies or bone-fide authorities.
- Maintains accurate records of relevant information using appropriate systems to ensure an audit trail and to measure and improve performance.
- Manages customer expectations regarding the service that can be provided by giving advice and taking appropriate action.
- Maintain high levels of customer service manage customer expectations and meet national and organisational service level agreements.
- This post holder is required to work a 24/7 shift pattern of 4 days on and days off, working 7am x 7pm and 7pm x 7am on a rotational basis.

- Communication skills – adapt language to meet the needs of different people/audiences.
- Able to utilise IT packages, systems and/or databases.
- Able to appropriately prioritise and plan own work.
- Experience of information gathering and problem solving.

Eligibility:
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.

Fixed: This is a traditional arrangement, applicable when the work is mostly required to be undertaken at a fixed single place of work (on police premises) for most of the time. The work can only or is more effectively delivered from a police premises or other agreed organisational/partner premises.

The decision to make all adverts temporary for a fixed term of 12 months is due to the financial position. As the financial position becomes clearer, it may be that we can make some of these posts permanent without the need to run a second recruitment process, equally they could be ended sooner than the 12 months
