The selected candidate will provide third line support, maintenance and produce elements of the roadmap for the continued development of a range of key functional products, such as unified communications, networks and user environment, within the Information Services technical portfolio to enable and sustain achievement of the Colleges IT business requirements.
Person specification
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Own, analyse, provide support for and resolve technical issues and problems with College infrastructure products, working collaboratively with other members of the Infrastructure team to provide comprehensive, integrated customer-focused solutions.
- Undertake regular checks on integrity of data storage and carry out back-up routines to ensure continuing availability of information to authorised users.
- Apply ITIL Service Management practice, policies and processes to continuously improve the consistency, quality and success of service management activities.
To be successful in this role youll need:
- Extensive hands-on experience in supporting Microsoft IT Environments, including patching
- Experience in identification, root-cause analysis and resolution of complex issues, including identifying and reducing repetitive problems
- Excellent interpersonal, planning, documentation, organisation and problem solving skills

Technical skills
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:
- Evidence experience in identification, root-cause analysis and resolution of complex issues, including identifying and reducing repetitive problems.
- Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent experience.
- Experience of new work packages to agreed specifications, time, budget and quality parameters to deliver services.
