Transferee - ROCU - Regional Organised Crime Unit

ROCU – Regional Organised Crime Unit

Opportunities are available for transferring detectives to collaboratively work with Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and West Midlands Police Forces as a part of the Regional Organised Crime Unit (ROCU).

You will be working to reduce the impact and increase the disruption of serious and organised crime within the region and beyond. The ROCU offers exciting opportunities for you to be part of a fast paced, vibrant and specialist team who fight organised crime across our region.

Working within Investigations, Intelligence or Surveillance Teams you will perform vital roles in investigating complex organised crime, while utilising developed investigative skills that will protect the communities across our region.

We have a strong family ethos, where our friendly teams work closely together to get the job done and where you will be treated as a valued member of the team from day one. When you join West Mercia you will have access to further opportunities for you to develop and progress, both with your investigations and your career!

The force area is divided into five local policing areas covering Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

The West Mercia area is also a great place to live. There is a wide variety of towns and villages surrounded by beautiful rural landscapes. With good transport links and easy access to Birmingham and London, there is no shortage of leisure amenities and attractions. From historic market towns such as Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Ludlow, Hereford, Leominster, Evesham and Worcester, to the magnificent Shropshire, Clee and Malvern Hills, to modern shopping in Telford, there is something for everyone. Property prices can be very competitive, too!

We have invested heavily in the health and wellbeing of our workforce, who all have access to modern gym facilities, a comprehensive 24/7 confidential support service and flexible working options. In addition, there are active sports and social club and numerous support groups open to all.

Whatever the reason for transferring, West Mercia Police can offer you a unique, challenging and rewarding career opportunity where you really can make a difference.
